Disassembly of BlackBerry 8800

Important! Please be sure you have the proper tools for this disassembly, as well as a dust free environment you can create. I recommend that latex gloves be used to prevent fingerprints from showing on the lcd and other visible areas. Be sure to remember the dissasembly steps, as you will need to put it back together once you are done. I also recommend using a can of compressed air to remove any dust that may have gotten into the blackberry.

Tools Necessary

T-5 Driver, Prying Tool.

BlackBerry 8800

Step 1; Turn Unit to its side

Step 1; Remove Battery Door & Battery

Step 2; Remove 4 Visible Screws

Step 3; Pry Both Side Pieces from the Blackberry

Start with the bottom and pry towards the top of the BlackBerry, as there are clips underneath.

Step 4; Remove Rear Upper Piece

Step 5; Remove Two Visible Screws

Step 6; Undo Antenna Connector

Step 7; Undo Antenna

Step 8; Pry inner plastic away from PCB

LCD Removal

Step 9; Turn Over Plastic Holding LCD

Step 10; Gently Pry LCD away

Using the prying tool, gently move Pry the LCD out of the inner casing.

Step 11; Prep your inner casing for your new lcd.
